What is coaching?
Coaching is a professional and confidential commitment and relationship between you and the coach. You are the absolute focus. In dialogue with your coach, you close the gap from where you are to where you want to be. You develop new thoughts and behaviors that accelerate achieving your goals or ideal life. You remove blocks that delay your growth. You do more of what energizes you and less of what drains you. You learn to realize your true potential and move forward with confidence.
The coach is your ultimate cheerleader and support person. You are viewed as a unique individual, unlike any other. The coach helps you to identify a dream or goal, solve problems, remove barriers, make decisions, design a plan, accomplish goals and move forward. Through questioning, listening, sharing, affirming, guiding and suggesting, the coach assists you to see and be your best. The coach believes YOU have the best answers and is skilled in having you discover those answers.
You are the center of the coaching process. You may come to the first session fully intent on what you want or you may be at a total loss in knowing where to begin. You move closer and closer to your personal best through discussions about topics such as: what matters most, how you feel about what is important, where you feel stuck or in a rut, what thoughts or beliefs impede your growth, what gives you energy, what drains your energy and where your life is in or out of balance.
How does the coaching process work?
You and the coach meet by telephone for 45 minutes to an hour, three to four times a month, at an agreed time and date. The minimum initial agreement is for 10 sessions over 3 months. Teleconferencing does work and saves time. Agreed upon weekly assignments are provided to reinforce growth and have fun!
In the first session, you and the coach will explore where you are and where you want to be. If you do not know where you want to be, that is the beginning point. With your coach’s help, you will examine the blocks that prevent you from moving ahead and create a plan to begin removing obstacles.
The following coaching sessions concentrate on consistently removing barriers and putting steps into action that lead you to your ideal. You and the coach will discuss weekly progress, new insights, challenges and assignments. The agenda generates and flows with the client’s progress.
